What is Cocopeat?
Coco peat, also known as coir pith or coir dust, is a by product of coconut processing. It is made from the fibrous husks of coconuts, which are ground and processed to create a natural, organic, and renewable growing medium.
Cocopeat has a high water retention capacity, which makes it an excellent choice for use as a soil amendment, potting mix, or hydroponic growing medium.
It is also lightweight and easy to handle, making it popular for use in container gardening and greenhouse production.
In addition to its ability to retain moisture, coco peat is also naturally rich in nutrients and has a high cation exchange capacity, which means it can hold and exchange nutrients with plant roots. It is also pH neutral, which means it won’t affect the pH of your soil or growing medium.
Electric Conductivity in Cocopeat?
EC (Electrical Conductivity) is a measure of the ability of a substance to conduct an electric current. In the context of coco peat, EC refers to the level of salts and minerals present in the coco peat.
Here are some common products that use coco peat:
High EC Cocopeat
High EC coco peat is used as bedding in animal farms. Coco animal bedding is ideal as bedding for as floor layer for animal sheds due to its moisture absorbing quality & soft bed cushioning effects.
These bedding are easy to lay & easy to remove & is free from fine dust particles. Our Materials are screened, vacuumed materials without fine dust / additives. It is also sterilized material free from molds & pathogens with no bad odor.
It is considered an eco-friendly alternative which is a non-renewable resource. By using coco peat, gardeners and farmers can help reduce their impact on the environment.
